About me

About me

Nice to meet you!
I’m Sophie.

Growing up, my superlative on my Massachusetts YMCA swim team was “the storyteller.” Though my swimming career was short-lived (probably due to my tendency to tell stories over the lane lines, instead of honing my flip turn), my storytelling career was barely getting started.

Quite a few years later, I am a multimedia journalist with expertise in audience engagement and social media. Drawing on a rich reporting background, I use my creativity to develop engaging ways to present content — ideas which consistently perform well and earn me praise from supervisors.

I believe in putting people first. Whether that’s studying analytics data to understand what content my audience craves, or meeting sources with empathy, I believe in journalism that places its audience at the center of decisions.

With experience at FRONTLINE PBS, The White House, Advance Media NY and leading the award-winning Syracuse University paper The Daily Orange, I’ve built a journalism toolbox and gained invaluable skills in reporting, editing, social media content creation, SEO, leadership and more.

More than all this, though, I can tell a good story. It’s what I do, what lights a fire under me, and who I am, ever since swim practice.
